Nominees Guide

This guide explains how nominees are selected, managed, and rewarded in the Zimbabwe People’s Choice Awards.

Who Can Be a Nominee

Only individuals or entities that have a biography profile on IBZIM can be nominated.

You can view available profiles at:
https://www.ibzim.com/profiles

If a person, institution, or entity does not yet have a profile, they are not eligible for nomination.

How Nominees Are Selected

Nominee selection depends on the award category:

Music Award Categories: Nominees are selected based on data from IBZIM Billboard

Other Award Categories: Nominees are mostly hand-picked by the IBZIM team but user-based nomination features are currently being developed to allow the community to influence nominations directly, not just final winners.

Nomination Schedule

Nominations happen every season, with four seasons each year:

  • Summer (December - February)
  • Autumn (March - May)
  • Winter (June - August)
  • Spring (September - November)

Nominees are announced at the beginning of each season and the annual event is held in December before beginning a new season cycle.

Claiming a Nominee Account

Nominees can claim their accounts through the IBZIM Support Page .

Once claimed, nominees can:

  • View voting and profile analytics
  • Claim rewards
  • Enable features such as Gift a Dollar to receive tips from supporters

Claiming an account is required to receive most rewards.

Disqualification Rules

Nominees may be disqualified if they are found to be involved in any of the following:

  • Involvement in fraudulent activities
  • Violation of IBZIM policies .
  • Use of bots or fake accounts to manipulate votes

IBZIM reserves the right to investigate and take action where abuse is detected.

How Nominee Data Is Sourced

Nominee information is gathered using a combination of:

  • Automated data collection from reputable sources
  • User submissions
  • Internal reviews by the IBZIM team

This process helps ensure accuracy, fairness, and relevance.

If you believe someone has been wrongfully nominated or disqualified, contact the support team for a review via the IBZIM Support Page .

Transparency and Public Reporting

As seasons progress, voting and rewards data are made public through press releases on: https://www.ibzim.com/press

Rewards and Payouts

Nominee Rewards

Nominees may receive:

  • Profile badges
  • Increased visibility across the platform
  • Eligibility for special promotional opportunities

Winner Rewards

Winners receive additional rewards, including:

  • Cash prizes
  • Trophies
  • Exclusive event invitations

Important:

How Winners Are Determined

Winners are decided based on the total number of votes received across all seasons.

If a tie occurs:

  1. The nominee with the highest number of unique voters wins
  2. If a tie still remains, the IBZIM team makes a final decision based on:
    • Overall engagement
    • Impact within the category
